Job description
Role Overview: Welders are responsible for assembling, welding, and grinding the company projects, and is capable of completing projects with minimal instruction from supervisors. In addition, this role is accountable for completing projects in a timely manner and maintaining a safe, clean & organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and perform TIG & MIG welding the company quality standards
Grind and polish metal to a sanitary finish using a variety of grinders
Read and interpret blueprints to manufacture sub-assemblies
Rig, lift and rotate parts and sub-assemblies using forklift & overhead crane
Perform proper fit –up and tacking of all components
Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble equipment for projects
Purge Welding Stainless Steel Tubing
Hand Peen (hammer + block) stainless steel sheets after fit-up
Maintain welding & grinding equipment
Maintain a safe and clean workstation
Follow quality guidelines as communicated from Welding Lead
Participate in employee safety training
Follow safety guidelines throughout all processes
Other duties as assigned from Welding Lead or Manufacturing Manager
Requirements:
- Self-motivated to meet project deadlines
Strong desire to learn new skills
Ability to read blueprints
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
Ability to work well with others
Ability to complete work to the company standards and expectations
Stainless steel (TIG/MIG) welding experience
Knowledge of various stainless steel polishing techniques and abrasives
Preferred Experience/Certifications/Education:
- Trade School Diploma
Forklift certification
2+ years of stainless steel welding (TIG/MIG) and fabrication experience
Purge welding experience
